The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has approved the estimate of the reconstruction project at the Kharkiv sport center Metallist, amounting at 442,157,448 hryvnyas.

By January 1, 2009, the project has received 40 million hryvnyas from the state budget, 81,160,146 hryvnyas from the local budget and 28,681,737 hryvnyas from investors.

It is planned to use 292,315,565 hryvnyas from the local budget in 2009.

After the reconstruction, the stadium will have 40,787 seats.

Kharkiv needs a total of 10.6 billion hryvnyas to prepare itself for the 2012 European football championship.
