The net sales of one of the biggest European construction material and household goods hypermarkets chain Praktiker (Germany) in Ukraine in 2008 grew 7.9 times, up to 13.856 million euros, the company's press-center has said.
Last year Praktiker extended its network to three outlets by opening two hypermarkets in Lviv and Mykolayiv.
By the end of 2008, the German retailer owned 436 hypermarkets in the world, including 336 in Germany.
By the end of 2009 Praktiker plans to open two more hypermarkets: one in Odesa and one in Kyiv.
The minimum amount of investment per hypermarket is 10 million euros.
Praktiker opened its first hypermarket in Ukraine in Makiyivka, Donetsk Region in 2007.
